Longtime readers of my work know that I follow the most exciting tech patterns on the brink of mass adoption.
These patterns are experiencing exponential development and producing extraordinary chances for financiers. I wish to ensure all our readers are prepared for what's next. And with that in mind, let me draw the picture of what I see coming in the next 12 months 1. 5G Devices Our brand-new 5G (fifth-generation) cordless networks are a subject I've been covering for years now.
Although the COVID-19 pandemic interrupted supply chains last year, an outstanding 250 million 5G-enabled devices were still offered. Specifically in the 2nd quarter, there were supply chain disruptions, producing delays, and work stoppages. And all of this eventually resulted in Apple postponing the release of the 5G-enabled i, Phone 12 by 2 months.
And that need is now going to be pushed into 2021. I anticipate that more than 500 million 5G gadgets will be shipped in 2021.
Phase 3 of 5G When I have actually spoken about 5G in the past, I've described its 3 various stages. In Stage One, the infrastructure of these new networks is built out, including all the new towers and fiber-optic electrical wiring that 5G will need. In Stage Two, 5G gadgets go on sale.

The investment opportunities going forward will be huge. 3. CRISPR Genetic Modifying Stepping far from 5G, the next essential technology I foresee in 2021 is CRISPR genetic editing. CRISPR stands for "clustered routinely interspaced short palindromic repeat." It's a mouthful. However it is among the most exciting developments in biotechnology.
